Site council meets a few times each year to review the school plan. It is a mixture of parents/community members, Sam Brannan students, and school staff.

Sam Brannan School-Parent Compact

The school distributes to parents of Title I, Part A students, a school-parent compact (Compact). The Compact, which has been jointly developed with parents, outlines how parents, the entire school staff, and students will share the responsibility for improved student academic achievement. The Compact describes specific ways the school and families will partner to help children achieve the state’s high academic standards. The Compact addresses the following legally required items, as well as other items suggested by parents of Title I, Part A students:

Why is there a Site Council

February 16, 2012

All elementary and middle schools have decided to participate in the School Based Coordinated Program (SBCP) using School Improvement Program funds; therefore, they are REQURIED to have School Site Councils.  (Some high schools have school site councils to administer other programs and funds.  The bylaws of these councils govern their activities.) Half of the Council members are school staff; the majority of this group must be classroom teachers.
